The Government of Mexico, through the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), began construction of the Arroyo El Sauz–Nuevo Laredo passenger rail section of the Gulf of Mexico Train, as part of the “Railway Workers’ Day” celebration.
This section, which marks the start of construction, is part of the Saltillo–Nuevo Laredo route, with a total length of 136.48 kilometers. It will include three stations—Nuevo Laredo, Anáhuac, and Lampazos—along with 52 railway bridges, 108 drainage works, and 42 vehicle crossings.

The Director General of the National Water Commission (Conagua), Efraín Morales López, reported on the progress of the agricultural irrigation modernization program, through which more than 200,000 hectares will be modernized across 18 strategic Irrigation Districts. The initiative aims to recover over 2.8 billion cubic meters of water, benefiting 225,000 agricultural users, aquifers, and the general population.
Moody’s Local México, Fitch Ratings, and S&P National Ratings assigned an AAA rating to the long-term bond issuances of the National Works and Public Services Bank (Banobras).

The outlook changed from negative to stable as a result of improvements in key fiscal metrics.
With this announcement, Mexico maintains its investment-grade status with all eight rating agencies that assess its debt.
