SICT Announces National Highway Infrastructure Plan Worth 150 Billion MXN

The head of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, stated that 35 billion MXN will be invested in 2025 alone to develop 263 km.

The plan includes nine priority axes aimed at complementing, interconnecting, and modernizing the country’s highway network.

Four ongoing projects will be completed this year:

Rizo de Oro and La Concordia Bridge, Real del Monte-Huasca, Nichupté Vehicular Bridge and San Ignacio-Tayoltita.

Amazon Web Services Investment of $5 Billion USD in Mexico

President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced a $5 billion USD investment by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Mexico to establish a digital region in Querétaro. This initiative will create 7,000 jobs per year, train 400,000 individuals, and contribute $10 billion USD to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) over the next 15 years, showcasing the extraordinary momentum the country is experiencing and boosting the arrival of further investments.

Paula Bellizia, CEO for Latin America at Amazon Web Services (AWS), emphasized that this investment will position Mexico as a digital hub and a leader in Latin America.

Estimated Investment of 8 Billion MXN in Mexico City International Airport

President Claudia Sheinbaum announces renovation of Mexico City International Airport

  • An estimated investment of 8 billion MXN will be allocated to enhance the user experience. This funding is self-generated by AICM and will not require resources from the Federal Expenditure Budget.
  • The renovation works will be carried out by the Ministry of the Navy. They are scheduled to begin between April and June 2025, with completion expected between April and May 2026.
