DESCRIPTION

Provision of public passenger rail services on the Mexican Railway System, through the construction of more than 3,000 km of passenger track on the AIFA-Pachuca, Mexico City-Nogales, and Mexico City-Nuevo Laredo routes. Passenger trains will provide intercity and regional services with dedicated tracks at maximum speeds of 160-200 km/h, with main and secondary stations.

The implementation strategy is divided into four phases:

Phase 1 (786 km)
- AIFA-Pachuca
- Mexico City-Querétaro
- Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo
- Querétaro-Irapuato

Phase 2 (910 km)
- Querétaro-San Luis Potosí
- Mazatlán-Los Mochis
- Irapuato-Guadalajara

Phase 3 (1,145 km)
- Guaymas-Hermosillo
- Guadalajara-Tepic
- San Luis Potosí-Saltillo
- Los Mochis-Guaymas

Phase 4 (552 km)
- Tepic-Mazatlán
- Hermosillo-Nogales

The AIFA-Pachuca and Mexico City-Querétaro sections are already under construction, while Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo and Querétaro-Irapuato are about to being put out to tender.
