Description:
The Government of Mexico is promoting the implementation of passenger railroads to improve the quality of life, well-being and mobility of people, for which it published the Decree declaring the provision of public passenger railroad transportation services in the Mexican Railroad System as a priority area for national development.
The Mexico-Pachuca Train is one of the seven projects published in the Decree. The Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) will be in charge of the Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) – Pachuca section, which seeks to improve connectivity between the State of Mexico, Hidalgo and the metropolitan area of Mexico City. For its construction, measures will be implemented to reduce environmental impact, such as the use of renewable energies, it will facilitate access to the AIFA, it will also contribute to reduce traffic congestion on highways and will promote the economic development of the region.
