PODECOBI are articulated productive ecosystems, where the State acts as an investment promoter, a driver of local capacities, and a facilitator of public and
logistical services. They are designed to boost economic activity and foster shared prosperity through economic and social impacts.

The Parque Industrial Bajío PODECOBI covers an area of 342.08 hectares, which meets the selection criteria established in the Agreement issuing the Guidelines for Economic Development Poles for Wellbeing, published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on May 22, 2025.

The characteristics of the pole and surrounding municipalities are as follows:
I. Macrolocation: Zinapécuaro, state of Michoacán.
II. Population: 425,935 inhabitants in the municipalities of Zinapécuaro, Álvaro Obregón, and surrounding municipalities.
IV. Social Feasibility: The National Institute of Indigenous Peoples reported that no Indigenous unit was identified as having the right to consultation.
V. Educational: Higher and upper secondary education institutions in PODECOBI and surrounding municipalities.
VI. Territorial: The following are priority and potential productive vocations for the development of productive activities in PODECOBI:
· Agroindustry;
· Automotive and auto parts;
· Household appliances;
· Logistics;
· Machinery and equipment.
VII. Industrial Feasibility: PODECOBI has industrial land use.
VIII. Sustainability: The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has determined that the hub is environmentally viable, subject to compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and the integration of specific measures for ecological protection and water management.
IX. Services and infrastructure: It has basic services and infrastructure for productive activities, including roads, electricity, potable water, drainage, and connectivity.
X. Property: The plots comprising the PODECOBI area are state public property.
