DESCRIPTION

The project involves the construction of a dam with a capacity of 126 million m3.

Components:
1. Dam
2. Intake structure
3. Aqueduct
4. Pumping sump
5. Water treatment plant

The project aims to provide 710,000 residents with access to water sources suitable for human use and consumption, thereby reducing the public health risk from ingesting contaminated water and contributing to improving the population's living conditions.

There are other impacts associated with the construction of the dam, and therefore, other benefits that can be obtained from the project's operation, such as:

- Benefits from the release of resources by stopping the extraction of groundwater.
- Environmental benefits from reversing the overexploitation of the aquifer.
- Benefits from avoiding the loss of agricultural production.
- Benefits from avoiding flooding in agricultural areas (damage to infrastructure and production).
