DESCRIPTION

The project involves extracting 119.91 million m3/year from the Solís Dam to be transported to the urban areas of the municipalities of León, Celaya, Irapuato, Salamanca, and Silao, Guanajuato.

The project components are:
- Intake works.
- Pumping plant.
- Pumping line. Part of the pumping plant to the water treatment plant, 800-1,000 m long, with a flow rate of 3,802 m3/s.
- Water treatment plant.
- Gravity line. From the water treatment plant to the new delivery tank in Cerrito de Jerez in the city of León, Guanajuato.
- Delivery tanks. One delivery tank for the city of León, Guanajuato, with a capacity of 50,000 m3, and four additional tanks with a combined capacity of 65,000 m3 for the other municipalities involved in the project.

The project aims to supply drinking water to 1.8 million residents of the city of León, for a total of 3.5 million residents in the benefited municipalities.

REMARKS

The project complements the Strategic Project for Field Technification, which aims to modernize irrigation district 011. This will allow part of the water savings to be used for human consumption. An investment of 800 million pesos is planned for 2025.
