The Government of Mexico, through the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), will invest MXN 8,866 million in the state of Colima in highway infrastructure works, which will generate 26,598 jobs.
The head of SICT, Jesús Esteva Medina, stated that four main actions are being carried out: MegaBachetón, bridges and grade interchanges, highways, and rural roads.

As a result of the partnership between Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) and the Australian company Woodside Energy, this project represents Pemex’s most significant, capital-intensive, and complex development, requiring an investment of more than USD 10 billion due to the major technological challenges involved.
The project contemplates hydrocarbon extraction, as well as the development of value chains, supply chains, and productive linkages.
