Santa Fe–Observatorio section of the “El Insurgente” Train inaugurated

The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, led the opening of the Santa Fe–Observatorio section of the El Insurgente Train, thereby completing the railway project that connects Toluca with Mexico City in a journey of less than 60 minutes, with a total investment of approximately 100 billion MXN.

The head of the Agency for Integrated Rail and Public Transport (Agencia de Trenes y Transporte Público Integrado, ATTRAPI), Andrés Lajous Loaeza, stated that the El Insurgente Train has a total infrastructure length of 57.7 kilometers, with seven stations and 20 trains, each 100 meters long with capacity for 719 passengers and universal accessibility. The system is expected to serve an estimated 140,000 users per day and will connect with Lines 1 and 12 of the Collective Transport System (Sistema de Transporte Colectivo, STC) Metro, Line 3 of the Cablebús, the Public Passenger Transport Network (Red de Transporte de Pasajeros, RTP), the Observatorio Intermodal Transfer Center (Centro de Transferencia Modal, CETRAM), and the Western Bus Terminal.
