The Suburban Train on its Buenavista–Cuautitlán stretch, began operations in 2008, spanning a length of 27 km across seven stations. In 2025, it recorded 45.1 million users. In April 2026, the Government of Mexico announced an agreement to acquire 100% of the equity stake and publicly operate the system through the National Infrastructure Fund (Fonadin), via the creation of a State-Owned Majority-Interest Company.
The Felipe Ángeles Train, on its Buenavista–AIFA section, began operations on April 26, 2026, covering a 41-km route between the Buenavista terminal and AIFA in less than 60 minutes (19.5 km between Buenavista and Lechería, and 22.94 km between Lechería and AIFA).
The project includes a combination of main stations and intermediate stops to meet regional demand (subject to final studies).
