DESCRIPTION

On December 1st, 2018, Mexico had a federal government administration change. As a consequence, all those projects that are in the pre-investment stage are subject to the confirmation of the new authorities.

Navigation aid systems of the Mexico New International Airport (NAIM). This project considers the following systems:

• Instrumental Landing System (ILS)

The instrumental runway 35R is proposed to be equipped witn a category III ILS. The remaining runways will be equipped with category I ILS that can be upgraded to category II and category II in case it is required during the development of the airport. The procedure design considers the interception of the ILS localizer at a distance of 40 Nautic Milles from the parallel runways 35/36/01 threshold of the NAIM.

• VHF Omnidirectional Radio Beacon (DVOR/DME)

The position to be installed in respect with the environment affects the election of the VOR. A Doppler VOR offers a higher resistance to the deterioration of the accuracy of the signal in the space due to reflexions of obstacles located in the facility environment. The location of the new facility is near the extended axle of the 36L runway, in the perimeter of the airport.

• Ground Base Augmentation System (GBAS)

GBAS is a system that provides differential corrections and surveillance of the integrity of the global navigational satellite systems in the proximities of the host airport. GBAS produces high precision .

This project is part of the NAIM macroproject.
